Describe the issue
Running the weston-simple-egl
demo in an Ubuntu 20.04 Wayland session takes more than 40MB RAM and increasing, while under the older i965
driver (i.e. running via MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=i965 weston-simple-egl
) only 21MB RAM are consumed without a notable increase over time.
The same issue has been reported to weston: wayland/weston#412.
Regression
The memory consumption with i965
is much lower and stays flat.
