Describe the issue
I use Manjaro Linux with i3 (community edition). After upgrding from LTS kernel 4.19 to 5.4, I noticed Google Chrome kept crashing regularly and frequently when switching from a different workspace to one with Google Chrome window. It took me a long time to find out that these crashes are related to the setting Use hardware acceleration when available
when turned on. However, when this setting is disabled, the crashes are gone.
I filed I bug report on the Chromium issue (ID 1074701) tracker, and they told me to report the issue here.
Regression
It worked without a problem on the 4.19 kernel series.
Problem started after upgrading to the new LTS kernel 5.4
Log files as attachment
I've attached the same 3 stacktraces from syslog as txt files.
Any extra information would be greatly appreciated
Dell XPS 9360 Laptop
External monitors don't make any difference.
I tried finding existing issues here prior opening a new one. I believe these are all related (TBH, I don't have sufficient expertise, but the symptoms sound similar... I might be wrong though):
