Describe the issue
I would like to report a problem that appeared with mesa 24.2 rc and is also present in stable 24.2.1. Last good was 24.1.X.
After starting Plasma 6 in an x11 session in VirtualBox, graphical problems appear, such as no window shadows or no smooth animation - when moving the window everything tearing also lack of transparency. The problem does not occur when using such a system on real hardware or on something like qemu like gnome-boxes. Only VirtualBox appears. Tested all VirtualBox options like VBoxVGA, VMSVGA and VboxSVGA and also with enabled 3D acceleration and without - problem exist on all.
The problem is also not present in the Wayland session.
Currently I have tested two distributions:
- OpenMandriva x11 - the problem appears on VB.
- OpenMandriva Wayland - there is no problem on VB.
- Fedora Rawhide Wayland - there is no problem on VB.
- Fedora Rawhide after installing x11 session - the problem appears on VB.
The problem was noticed not only by me, but also by several other people I have contact with (mandriva users).
I understand that the problem may depend on Plasma 6, but it was clearly caused by a Mesa update, the previous branch 24.1.7 works without any problems.
Regression
Yes, it works fine on previous Mesa branch, last good mesa was 24.1.7.
