## Description
Although in your Bugzillaa it is mentioned that bugs for Intel HD graphics should be reported to i965, my dmesg just shows i915, so I’ll report here. I own a Dell XPS 15 9550 and an “Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz × 8” with “Intel® HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2) / NV117”. I use Fedora 27 with Wayland and have a mixed-dpi setup (UHD & HD screens). Mesa version is 17.2.4.
The bug is occurring by usage of the application Lollypop (via Flatpak), see my bug report there:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/gnumdk/lollypop/issues/1322#note_21741
Lollypop crashes reproducibly when I open this mentioned widget, close it and want to open it once again (I added a screencast there). The author was able to reproduce it, added a backtrace and asked me to open a bug report here. I don’t have any idea about the graphics stack and hope that this is somewhat self-explaining… :/

## Description

hack to apitrace for duplicating problem
We have an internal OpenGL benchmarking tool that measures the performance of
certain frames in apitrace files. We have been using this tool to measure
the performance of various releases of Mesa.
We recently found a large regression in Mesa performance of Half Life Episode 2, as measured by our benchmarking tool. We measured the following frame rates when running the benchmark with Mesa built from the listed source tags:
tag mesa-17.0.0 358.6 fps
tag mesa-17.1.3 151.1 fps
This is a reduction in performance of more than 2X.
Since the tool we use to measure performance is an internal tool and we cannot distribute it, I hacked apitrace to behave similar to our tool so that apitrace can be used to measure the performance of the problem frame. The frame rates I measured with this hacked apitrace benchmark are:
tag mesa-17.0.0 417.7 fps
commit 071d80b 393.9 fps
commit f81ede4 324.6 fps
tag mesa-17.1.3 196.0 fps
The hacked apitrace shows about the same performance drop between mesa-17.0.0 and mesa-17.1.3 as our original benchmark. I also include the results for commits 071d80b and f81ede4 because commit f81ede4 seemed to show the single largest performance drop of all commits between mesa-17.0.0 and mesa-17.1.3.
The configuration of the system I have been using to measure Mesa performance is:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz
RAM: 16Gb
GPU: AMD RX480
Attached is the patch I applied to apitrace to create my hacked apitrace that attempts to duplicate the original benchmark.
After building apitrace with the above patch, I used the following command to measure performance:
vblank_mode=0 glretrace -b hl2_linux.trace
I can make the hl2_linux.trace trace file available on request. We cannot widely distribute it because it contains Valve IP (i.e. game images). Please send a request directly to david@lunarg.com.
Note that we have observed similar performance drops for other games, but I have concentrated on isolating and reporting on one frame in one game for now.

Screenshot comparison
When trying to display
https://www.shadertoy.com/view/4llcR4
i get artifacts near horizon due to mipmapping (artifacts are absent with mipmapping disabled).
It works as expected with the proprietary driver (under Windows) on the same machine.
See attached image for Screenshot comparison.
So either mipmap generation or display seems to be erroneous for 3D textures.
My card is AMD Radeon HD 7870.

## Description
Patch series culminating in this commit changed performance in several tests:

commit ad55b1a7701ad51234af3b9fc30f4c54d2546b86
Author: Timothy Arceri <timothy.arceri@collabora.com>

i965: remove GLSL IR optimisation loop
IVB is running into some spilling issues in piglit with the
loop removed. However those tests are not really reflective
of a real world use case, also fp64 is brand new to IVB
so we leave the spilling issues to be resolved at a later
time.
-------------------------------------------------------
On most of the platforms GpuTest v0.7 PixMark Volplosion test performance dropped by ~6%, on SKL GT4e, a bit more.
(There were few performance improvement around same time, but they were small enough that I couldn't bisect them to this commit, besides the SynMark shader compilation speed test which improved by ~9%.)
Volplosion test is fairly pure ALU test. While it has one copy shader, none of the other shaders do any texture accesses, including the heavy main fragment shader, i.e. texture access scheduling doesn't affect it.

## Description
Hello,
I have a problem creating an OpenGL window greater than 8064 with DRI / i965
glxgears -geometry 8064x2160 with Intel DRI works fine
glxgears -geometry 8065x2160 with Intel DRI causes corruption in the image
With the classic swrast it works correctly.
I think that with Mesa 13 versions it worked with intel well
Thank you

I use X query on a remote server to launch an application. I can login remotely. This application works perfectly when used directly on the server, but makes X crash when used remotely.
The client runs with xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3ubuntu5, and the video chipset is Intel Corporation 82865G.
I run ubuntu lucid lynx.
Xorg.1.0.log attached.

## Description

Three windows, Firefox, pidgin and gnome-terminal. Pidgin (chat window) has focus, firefox is behind it, and gnome-terminal is at the back (but still visible which is wrong)
When I connect an external screen (1680x1050) next to my normal laptop screen (1280x800) window stacking is wrong.
What happens is:
I have 2 windows A and B, window A is bigger, and window B is at the same position as window A. So normally you expect when A has focus you cant see B (its hidden by A), and the other way around, when B has foucs, you can only see part of A.
This does not happen. What happens is
Window A has focus: window B is not visible, but a large dark shadow at its position is, also a lighter shadow is completely above A
Window B has focus: window B visible, A still has the lighter shadow
If B is a gnome-terminal (which in my case uses transparancy in its main window, so probably other "transparent" apps behave the same)
Window A has focus: window B is visible, with shadow. A has shadow
window B has focus: window B is visible without shadow, A has shadow
Also normal windows (= not gnome-terminal) have a shadow above them (even when they are not overlapped by or overlapping another window)
This is only with metacity with compositing enabled. (I havent tried compiz, or another compositing window manager)
When I connect the same external screen at the same position of my laptop screen (so total screen size is 1680x1050 and not (1680+1280)x1050) these problems do not appear.
I'm using latest xorg-edgers PPA on intel 950. (wich has xorg-intel-driver 2.12, and latest drm fix)

gdb bt, Xorg log, dmesg, and working xorg.conf
Bug description:
Each time firefox is started it results in a firefox.core file in the home directory. firefox does continue to startup without any more issues. From a gdb backtrace it appears to be a problem in a call to driCreateScreen(). Disabling DRI in an xorg.conf stops firefox creating a core at startup - originally I was not using an xorg.conf so the server configured itself.

Reproducing steps:
Start firefox and check home directory when it has finally started.
Additional info:
Use non-root account to reproduce since root does not produce cores by default.
The attachment contains
o a gdb backtrace of a firefox core showing the crash in driCreateScreen()
o The Xorg log for the server which produces a core
o System dmesg
o xorg.conf that stops firefox dumping a core.

## Description
It would be nice if docs/features.txt would also contain information about what EGL versions and extensions are supported.
This would e.g. allow for mesamatrix.net to display this information in a nice way, and allow for users / developers to easily see what EGL parts will work with Mesa.

## Description
After recent changes, VkLayer_MESA_overlay.json references implicit libVkLayer_MESA_overlay.so which supposedly should be accessible to the loader (either in common library cache or through LD_LIBRARY_PATH).
It would be better for it to use explicit reference, similar to how actual Vulkan ICD manifests are doing it. But for that, there should be separate JSON loader manifest for each architecture. Is it currently possible?
Actual ICDs do support it, i.e. you can find:
/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.i686.json
/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json
So loader knows which one to pick depending on the arch even during implicit loading.
Would it work for layers?
I.e. for example:
/usr/share/vulkan/explicit_layer.d/VkLayer_MESA_overlay.i686.json
/usr/share/vulkan/explicit_layer.d/VkLayer_MESA_overlay.x86_64.json
Each of them referencing explicit .so location? Or that requires fixing the layer loading logic first?
I also opened this to be able to load layer JSON explicitly, like ICD manifests allow:
