Acer F5-573 - Elantech - Invalid tap event prevents cursor from moving after a while
I have an Acer Aspire F5-573, and both with Linux Mint 19 (Kernel 4.15.0-23, either Cinnamon or XFCE) and Manjaro 17.1.11 (Kernel 4.14.52-1 and KDE) (both in live mode with no updates, unfortunately I don't plan on installing any of them) my ElanTech I2C touchpad stops moving after a while. I can still click, but it doesn't move. When it stops, if I alt+tab my way to a web browser window, when I try to move the cursor, it starts selecting text. When it freezes I can move it with keyboard shortcuts. It seems to be more frequent when I'm playing on the Dolphin Emulator, but it already happened when I was taking a look at some screensavers. I also tried logging out and disabling and enabling the touchpad with the FN keys but the only thing that works is a system reboot.
I used some commands I found in a tutorial and I noticed the diff file says something about an invalid tap event, complete files are attached: "(EE) event8 - ELAN0501:00 04F3:3019 Touchpad: libinput bug: invalid tap event TAP_EVENT_PALM in state TAP_STATE_TAPPED"
I also noticed I can't move the cursor when I tap on any of the edges of the touchpad and a lot of options are grayed out on KDE settings regarding the touchpad, but I don't know if I need to make a separate bug report for those.
I'll be glad to help solve the issue. Thanks! :)
Libinput version (Mint): 1.10.4
