Aiptek BTN_TOUCH not doing anything - can't use tablet
Tablet model Aiptek 8000U. I'm using it with a Dell Latitude E6410 on Arch Linux (just updated) which has an Alps trackpad - mentioning in case it is some kind of conflict with this.
When I first plug in the tablet and touch the stylus to it, it grabs the cursor in an left-clicked mode so the trackpad won't do anything except select rectangles on the desktop or application. Effect is not repeated after the tablet is unplugged and plugged in again. Subsequent attempts to use the tablet (plug it in, touch stylus to tablet) lock out the trackpad left button so BTN_LEFT and BTN_TOUCH won't do anything. The other buttons and cursor motion are unaffected. The buttons for the dualpoint stick are affected in the same way. The buttons on the side of the stylus function correctly as right click and middle click. Unplugging the tablet or changing tool to the puck are the only ways to get the trackpad to work normally again. The puck works normally as a mouse and doesn't affect the trackpad, only issue with it is wheel is producing wrong button events.
Notice in the debug-events file there are no events corresponding to the stylus touching the tablet except one at the beginning, though I touched it multiple times.
Additionally (and a minor issue), although the keys at the top of the tablet generate correct Fx key events, the target area to get them to work is very small and off centre to lower-right quarter of the button marking.
Running libinput debug-gui, everything appears to work perfectly on screen although the tablet still isn't actually useable.
Steps to reproduce
Plug an Aiptek 8000u graphics tablet into a laptop which has an Alps touchpad, mine is a Dell Latitude E6410, I don't know if other models are affected, or if the make of trackpad actually has anything to do with it. Touch the stylus to the tablet. The same effect is obtained by replaying the attached aiptek-8000u.yml file.
