touchpad is disabled temporarily when using trackpoint

Summary

According to the documentation libinput disables the touchpad for a certain time period whenever it detects trackpoint activity.

I am however used to using the physical trackpoint buttons with the touchpad (e.g. to select text or drag & drop), which now doesn't work very well due to this 'feature'. I always need to wait ~0.5s before I can start the selection after a click. Is it possible to perhaps disable this specific feature somehow?

I am very much used to the behavior I have in my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installations, which allowed trackpoint usage in parallel with the touchpad. Although I don't use the trackpoint joystick much, I do use the buttons very often. I never had issues with accidental touchpad touches though and so this 'feature' seems unnecessary to me personally.

Steps to reproduce

Try selecting text or dragging & dropping with the trackpoint buttons and the touchpad on Ubuntu 19.10.

libinput version you encountered the bug on

1.14 (up-to-date on Ubuntu 19.10)
