Cursor jumps with Dell XPS 13 9370

I'm creating this issue in the wake of this mailing list thread as @whot asked: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/kernel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/JQ5XKJC7L6DDLNT35LQ32Z2IIJRNZOKQ/

Description of the problem:
Sometimes as I use the touchpad, I see that the cursor "jumps" sometimes. There is no clear way to reproduce this as it happens "randomly". Sometimes the jump is detected (and rejected) by libinput, and this is logged in the journal. (For an example, see the above mailing list thread. If you want, I can also paste a piece of the log here.)
