Instead of guessing something based on preprocessor defines and magic.

CC @nirbheek @fanc999 . The old code comes from https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679115 and makes no sense to me. It also disagrees with the commit message ("debuglib" vs "lib\debug").
