Loss of sound when seeking

I'm using GStreamer version 1.18.5 on Arch Linux. When I play an audio file with gst-play-1.0, like audio.mp3, then it works fine. However, when I seek using the arrow keys, audio is simply cut off most of the time. I have to play around with the arrow keys until I get audio back. I rarely get audio, but it's very choppy. The only way to get perfectly working audio is to listen to audio tracks from the start without seeking.

This happens with all kinds of audio files, but here's a test MP3 file I found online that definitely shows this behaviour:

cinematic-dramatic-11120

Here's a log file when I try to play the above MP3 using gst-play-1.0:

gst-log.txt

This problem also occurs on version 1.16.2.
