Should kate be removed?

As far as I can tell, libtiger's source is not available anymore in googlecode.com nor git.xiph.org. Distros appear to be carrying an old tarball for years.

Should the kate plugin be removed? This would allow distros to remove libkate / libtiger and lose some unmaintained code.
