Difficult to figure out how to consume 1.20.1 macOS GStreamer .pkgs

As stated in gstreamer-rs!995 (comment 1315506), it looks like the latest pkg-config files bundled in the development packages for GStreamer 1.20.1 point to incorrect library paths, generating build errors like this (this error is from a Rust project):

I'm not aware of any breaking change that macOS application developers should be aware of related to these errors, so I'd say it looks like an unintended breakage.
