Intermittent freeze after resume from suspend (instant to hours later)
Hi,
Let me apologize straight away for a maybe substandard bug report. I can't use dmesg (I think) since when the issue happens all I can do is reboot the PC, wiping the memory. I do have some information from journalctl though. The version I'm running is 0.17-1 which I think is up to date.
After I resume from a suspend to RAM (triggered through systemctl suspend), sometimes the system freezes (I do see my screen as I left it, but nothing react: mouse, keyboard, etc.). I end up having to reboot manually. The end of journalctl -b -1 shows the attached log (I left everything from the resume timestamp). Towards the end are some kernel complaints about nouveau. In this case it happened straight away (making it easier to provide the journal), but in some cases the freeze happens after a few minutes, sometimes much longer. But, in my experience, this has never happened when there hasn't been a suspend to RAM since the last bootup.
I'm also including the installed versions of all the (Arch) packages (including linux etc.) on my system if it helps. versions.txt
I've read a few people reporting similar issues on various forums, some of them solving the issue by switching to proprietary drivers. I'd rather stay open source if I can! Let me know if I can provide other information of use.
Cheers, Pierric.
