This is a fresh install of Arch Linux running a bare X11 with i3, no compositors, no custom xorg.conf files except keyboard layout and touchpad tapping configuration. No custom i915 kernel arguments. Same behavior with Arch's mainline kernel as with the drm-tip built today and from where these logs come.
