[i915] [wayland + Xorg] Ubuntu 22.04 Flickering bug/distortion
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz with Device-1: Intel UHD Graphics 620 driver: i915 graphics
Ubuntu 22.04 development branch + beta on kernel 5.15.0-17-generic and upwards versions (currenly testing 5.15.0-25-generic) results into a flickering screen panel bug that can only bypassed with kernel parameter: intel_idle.max_cstate=4
on kernel 5.13 it did not occur so heavy (only little glitches once in a while see bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1948778
i had these same bugs on this machine before on other Ubuntu releases with different kernels see bugs:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe/+bug/1838644 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1948778
on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS i had no flickering at all
Attaching dmesg with + without kernel parameter: intel_idle.max_cstate=4
dmesg-without-cstate.txt CurrentDmesg.txt
