i915 very high interrupt load on i3-10100
From https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/546169-i915-very-high-interrupt-load
Opensuse 15.2 LXDE Desktop is installed on a Gigabyte B460D3H Board with Intel I3-10100 CPU, 16Gb Ram, 1 TB M3 SSD
Monitor is BENQ PD2705Q with Displayport Cable
Kernel:
5.3.18-lp152.47-default #1 SMP Thu Oct 15 16:05:25 UTC 2020 (41f7396) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
(also kernel 5.4.71 with same result)
The i915 driver is processing a very high interrupt load (>1 mio/sec) after the Monitor is turned off and on again. system becomes unusable in graphics (firefox etc) and slow in console
Test to reproduce the problem immediately: test.log
Tested with BENQ PD2705 or Lenovo 24" Thinkvision Monitor, connected with Displayport cable
the problem can not be reproduced with opensuse 42.3 (kernel 4.4.236), at least not with monitor off/on
