i915 0000:00:02.0: GPU HANG: ecode 8:1:0x85dffff9, stopped heartbeat on rcs0
Hello, So I have this weird bug on an Asus X206HA (netbook with an Intel Atom chipset), it randomly freezes for seemingly no reason for a few months I think (maybe more), and I was never able to get any log because I always had to force power off to reboot. Now I reinstall a fresh Arch with kernel 5.2 and a lighter environment ans freeze still happen but the computer recover and I finally got something in dmesg:
[ 265.897508] i915 0000:00:02.0: GPU HANG: ecode 8:1:0x85dffff9, in systemd-logind [362], stopped heartbeat on rcs0
[ 265.897513] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[ 265.897515] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[ 265.897516] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[ 265.897517] The GPU crash dump is required to analyze GPU hangs, so please always attach it.

[ 266.004824] i915 0000:00:02.0: Resetting rcs0 for stopped heartbeat on rcs0
I think freeze started with the beginning of the 5.x branch, but I cannot be sure because at the beginning I did not think it could be a bug, so I did not give to much attention to that detail, moreover the freeze were very rare at the beginning and became more and more frequent, so at the beginning that wasn't very noticeable and I cannot tell how long ago it started.
Hope I can help more...
