Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 integrated secondary display doesn't work
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 has a secondary display on the keyboard that doesn't seem to be working under Linux. I tried removing all of the Lenovo drivers/services on a Windows installation, and the display still powered on and was working, so I assume it's being turned on by the Intel graphics drivers. However, I'm not certain that I got them all and that there isn't a separate PMIC that controls the display power (my understanding is that the iGPU has support for that stuff built in, so there wouldn't be a reason to do that, though?)
System information:
- System architecture: x86_64
- Kernel version: 6.2.0-rc6+ (commit 3119889d)
- Linux distribution: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
- Machine model: Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G3 IAP
- Display connector: no idea, presumably eDP?
Here's dmesg with drm debugging enabled, and intel_reg_dumper output. Trying to dump the vbios ROM fails for me with EIO and the following printed in dmesg:
[ 593.931629] i915 0000:00:02.0: Invalid PCI ROM header signature: expecting 0xaa55, got 0x0b30
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
