Brightness control edid_quirk for new OLED Panel on Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extereme

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme has a new OLED Panel. On situation like this we usually submit a patch and add edid_quirk of the new panel for brightness to work. It seems edid_quirk has been deleted. EDID-based quirks Could you please advise if we need this quirk or is there a new brightness control implementation for OLED panel?
