I am getting occasional screen freezes that lasts for like 10 seconds while using Kubuntu. When checking the output of sudo dmesg
after the freeze, i see that i am getting this error.

The freeze happens exactly before seeing this part:

What does [CRTC:80:pipe A] flip_done timed out
mean ?
Why am i getting this error ?
Notes
- I noticed that i am getting this error
i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* The master control interrupt lied (DE PIPE)!
whenever i click on an image and open it via Dolphin using Gwenview. Sometimes i get the errorDE PIPE
with the freezeflip_done
, sometimes justDE PIPE
with no freeze. - The audio i am playing keeps playing while the screen freeze is occurring.
- I tried adding
i915.dmc_firmware_path=
and it didn't work. - Tried many kernels after the supposed fix and still getting the error, including the one i am running right now.
- I download the kernel .deb packages
.deb packages

and reboot. Am i missing something ?
Thanks for reading and i appreciate your help.
