GPU hangs after kernel 6.12
Brief summary of the problem:
After updating to kernel 6.12.1 from 6.10.9, I have had seemingly random and quite common hangs (assumed to be driver time outs as the freeze matches the behavior of prior time outs) that has happened around 2 times in less than 30 minutes with no errors/time out messages in system journal as attached below.
Hardware description:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
- GPU: Navi 33 [Radeon RX 7600/7600 XT/7600M XT/7600S/7700S / PRO W7600] (RX 7600)
- System Memory: Flare X5 2x16GB 6000MT/s CL30
- Display(s): ViewSonic XG2405 1080@144hz on DP-1 and ASUS Monitor 1080p@60hz on HDMI-1
System information:
- Distro name and Version: Arch Linux on GNOME 47.1
- Kernel version: 6.12.1.arch1-1
- AMD official driver version: N/A, Running Mesa 24.2.7-arch1.1
How to reproduce the issue:
Issue seemingly happens to be on random. One of the hangs happened while resizing an Alacritty window and another seemingly randomly while moving the cursor.
