AMD Renoir: Boot failure on 5.17.4, 5.16.18 works fine

Brief summary of the problem:

A Qubes OS user reported that 5.17.4 does not boot on their AMD Renoir system. 5.16.18 works fine for them.

• GPU: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc [AMD/ATI] Renoir [1002:1636] (rev d3) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
• System Memory: 15591 (presumably MiB)
• Display(s): Unknown
• Type of Display Connection: Unknown

How to reproduce the issue:

Try to boot the system. A black screen results.
