AMDGPU: Failed to register vline0 irq 30

Brief summary of the problem:

When booting the computer with a AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and loging in, the computer crashes after about 2 or 3 seconds using KDE Plasma. This is always reproducible since Kernel 5.16.3 (Upstream and the Fedora Linux Kernel). Since that version, the Kernel log always complains [drm:amdgpu_dm_init.isra.0.cold [amdgpu]] *ERROR* Failed to register vline0 irq 30!. I compiled and tested the Kernel between 5.16.2 and 5.16.3 commit-by-commit and found that fixing issue #1781 caused that regression.

  • System Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Display(s): 1
  • Type of Display Connection: DP

System information:

  • Distro name and Version: Fedora Linux 35
  • Kernel version: 5.16.3-200.fc35.x86_64 (first appearance, but also buggy in upstream Kernel)
  • Custom kernel: -
  • AMD official driver version: N/A

How to reproduce the issue:

  1. Use a AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and Linux Kernel >= 5.16.3
  2. Boot the computer and log in
  3. Wait for a few seconds (may even take ~15s)
