Frozen when suspended with 5.16.* kernel
Brief summary of the problem:
When attempting to suspend the computer, it freezes and does not sleep. Forced restart required to resume.
Hardware description:
- CPU: Intel i7-10700 CPU
- GPU: Radeon RX 5600
- System Memory: 32GB
- Display(s): Dell U2518D
- Type of Display Connection: HDMI
System information:
- Distro name and Version: Arch Linux
- Kernel version: 5.16.5.arch1-1
- AMD official driver version: N/A
How to reproduce the issue:
Press the sleep key or enter systemctl suspend
in the terminal to put the system to sleep. Computer becomes unresponsive, doesn't resume nor appear to be asleep judging by the power button light (light stays on instead of slow blinking when suspended). Forced power cycle is required to resume. Workaround is to use any linux 5.15.* kernel, such as the current Arch Linux LTS kernel 5.15.19-1.
We have several other computers, desktops and laptops, with either NVIDIA or Intel graphics and they do not have this problem with linux 5.16.* kernels. The only one affected has Radeon RX 5600.

SOLVED:
Removing kernel parameter psi=nomsi
solved the problem and the computer is now suspending and resuming without a problem with 5.16.7
