NetworkManager sometimes doesn't reconnect to wifi AP after resume on pinephone

I'm running postmarketOS edge with phosh on a pinephone with NetworkManager 1.32.10. Normally I'm connected to my home wifi access point (called PlumbWireless), and usually when I resume, it immediately reconnects to the access point. But sometimes it doesn't reconnect, and stays unconnected. To reconnect I go to Settings -> Wi-Fi and selected my access point (PlumbWireless) and it will immediately connect, but otherwise will just sit in this unconnected state indefinitely.

This happened this morning and here was the order of events:

  1. Pressed button to resume the phone. It had been in a suspend state.
  2. I noticed a dialog asking me for the password for the PlumbWireless access point. The password was already filled in so I pressed OK.
  3. It did not connect successfully.

I notice that in the phosh shell, the wifi widget says "PlumbWireless" but with an X in the icon.
