nm-initrd-generator generates a single connection even with multiple NICs
Right now, nm-initrd-generator
generates a single connection when passed ip=dhcp,dhcp6
, even if the machine has multiple NICs. In CoreOS, we propagate all connections generated by nm-initrd-generator
into the real root. When we propagate this connection to the real root, NM in the real root no longer defaults to generating a separate connection per NIC. The end result then is that a single connection is assigned for multiple NICs, which leads to a confusing UX.
Would it be possible for nm-initrd-generator
to match the real root NM behaviour and generate multiple connections (one per each device) in this case?
