wifi connection failures with iwd, possibly hidden SSID related
I've been testing out iwd as an NM backend recently, but experiencing a lot of problems where I could not establish a connection to my home wifi.
Initially on iwd 1.8 things seemed to work fine, until I started leaving my leaving my laptop sleeping overnight with the gateway off, whereby it would refuse to connect when I came back to it in the morning, which did not happen if I left the gateway on. I thus suspected a bug relating to turning off the gateway while sleeping.
However as the days went by I had further experiences that suggest it may have nothing at all to do with sleeping. I documented a lot of my experience in Debian bug # 969319.
Finally with the upgrade to iwd 1.9, the ability to connect to my network was completely broken while the network SSID was set to hidden, and so I switched back to wpa_supplicant for the time being so that I can try to get other work done.
I have no idea whether this latter brokenness is directly related to the other connectivity issue.
I also have no idea whether the problems lie with NM, or iwd.
I'm running Debian sid, with network manager version 1.26.2-1.
