Wishlist: provide a way to avoid using an internal wifi adaptor when an external one is available
There are many reasons why one may want to use an external wifi card (e.g. an usb dongle) rather than the system internal one. For instance the internal one may be misfunctioning, or have poor reach, or only support older standards.
Unfortunately, with NM it is impossible to do so. As long as NM sees two cards, it will try to connect with both. Priorities, that appear to work when it is a matter of choosing an AP over another on a single wifi adapter do not seem easily applicable to choose which adapter to use when more than one are available.
To make the matter worse, the issue cannot be solved from outside NM by switching off a wifi adapter. In fact, whenever NM sees a WIFI adapter being switched off, it incorrectly assumes that all the wireless stack can be disabled. See also bug 76.
Please introduce a way to favor a wifi card over another (e.g. by adaptor priorities), so that when the same AP is seen by two cards, the connection is automatically switched to the higher priority one, or by fixing bug 76 or both.
