Switch to the iwd backend for wifi by default?
Putting this out there as there doesn't seem to be any discussion about it so far, feel free to close again is you think this is not the appropriate place to discuss this.
iwd is quite mature these days, seems to be more actively maintained than wpa_supplicant, has a better architecture and in general feels like it should become the default for linux eventually. The NM iwd backend would probably need quite some more work if the switch would be made, but it all seems doable.
Are there plans to make the switch of the default NM backend to iwd (and maybe even rip out all the complexity needed to support wpa_supplicant?), or reasons to not make the switch?
